Labour market conditions for researchers with refugee background

Within the framework of the CARe project, implemented by ACA (coordinator), DAAD and EDUFI, three reports have just been published, the result of the 10 focus groups and the employer survey, conducted in the period June 2019 – February 2020. The focus groups gathered researchers (at risk and with refugee background) with the aim of mapping the experiences, competences and support needs of this target group while navigating the labour market in the host countries. The employer survey collected the views and experiences of employers (e.g. HEIs, research institutes and clusters, companies, associations) with employing (or not) the target group.

In addition to the two full reports, comprising extensive findings from the focus groups and employer survey, the consortium has produced an additional, brief comparative report combining the main findings from the two sets of data and comparing the views from the two groups of respondents.

The reports will be used for further activities in the project – production of the CARe country guides for each CARe target country and at EU level, and in the delivery of the CARe country-specific and EU-level webinars, both aimed at supporting the researchers in their career paths. The country guides will be available in October 2020, and the webinars will be delivered in the period late August – November 2020.

The three reports are available here.
