The Swedish Government has just decided that the International Programme Office for Education and Training (IPK) is to take over the administration of the Swedish “Global School.”  The Global School is a programme for secondary education financed by SIDA, the Swedish Development Agency.  The overall purpose of the Global School is to stimulate school improvement and support the pedagogical development work on learning about global issues for sustainable development. There are four main activities that distinguish the work of the Global School, implemented internationally, nationally and locally. One of the activities is located in a developing country. This programme will have a substantial impact on IPK's portfolio on cooperation with developing countries and reinforces the link between school education, higher education and development.
