For the first time, the Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany will receive additional support to further build up their level of internationalisation. To this end, the DAAD has selected 31 model projects in its "UAS.International" programme, which now receive a total of around 21 million euros from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The central goals of the programme are to further strengthen the global competitiveness of this type of higher education institution through international cooperation in close collaboration with business and industry, and to better prepare students for the international labour market of the future. Digitisation is also to be given a further boost.
