This month the last online training round of ACA’s Inclusion ACAdemy took place for higher education institutions across Europe, in collaboration with Support Centre Inclusive Higher Education. Participants from Austria, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, and Slovenia had the opportunity to engage with Wannes Gijsels from the University of Antwerp, and Aamena Meidell from De Montfort University, who shared the actions and best practices their universities are taking in order to improve inclusion and diversity in internationalisation. Additionally, Ana Rita Dias and Wim Gabriels from the Erasmus Student Network, shared findings from the SIEM research and the ESNsurvey, which offered valuable insights into the student perspective on inclusion and accessibility in mobility programmes.
The second half of the trainings included discussions on what higher education institutions are doing to foster inclusion in mobility, which will serve as the foundation for developing the upcoming roadmaps of activities that HEIs and NAs can implement collaboratively to improve the Inclusion & Diversity priority of the Erasmus+ programme. These documents should enable the HEIs and NAs to further improve their practices in creating inclusive environments that will reduce barriers in accessing international programmes for a wider range of students. The Inclusion ACAdemy trainings will end with the final conference in Zagreb, Croatia, 22 -23 May 2024.
