This month, ACA published the second article in the ACA Think Pieces series on Inclusion in International Higher Education: European Perspectives & Insights. The piece, titled Bridging the structural gaps in supporting inclusive mobility, is authored by the distinguished Christina Bohle, International Relations Officer and Erasmus+ Coordinator, Philipps-University Marburg, Germany. In the article, Christina explores the importance of reimagining inclusion and diversity strategies as institutions embark on a new decade of inclusion-focused roles, structures, and responsibilities, unpacking the Erasmus+ 2021 Programme Guide's ambitions, providing a succinct list of key questions and advocating for further staff development opportunities.

On 19-20 April ACA also took part in the second Peer-Learning Activity on Inclusive Mobility under the PLAR-4-SIMP project, hosted by the Federal Ministry Republic of Austria Education, Science and Research, the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training and the Support Centre for Inclusive Higher Education (SIHO). The online PLA gathered 30 participants representing 14 ministries of education of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) with their respective National Agency for Erasmus+ (many of them ACA members) or National Erasmus+ Office. The event focused on the barriers and challenges of organising mobility in an inclusive way for all types of disadvantaged, vulnerable and underrepresented students. The discussions were solution-oriented and participants had the chance to receive rich inputs from other countries and experts. In October 2021, a research report and peer learning report will be published as part of the PLAR-4-SIMP project, while the training and communication package will be launched at the final conference in February 2022.

On 22 April, as part of the EPFIME Final conference, the platform InclusiveMobility.eu was launched by the project partners, together with a Toolbox on Inclusive Mobility and a Framework, Self-assessment tool and guidelines to make mobility programmes more inclusive. The platform strives to serve as a one-stop shop for all information about inclusive mobility, and for all relevant stakeholders: higher education institutions, national agencies for Erasmus+, ministries of education and students. Developed jointly by ESN and SIHO, the platform offers stakeholders the opportunity to provide detailed in information about their strategies, processes and support services on inclusive mobility in the European Higher Education Area. Prospective students who are considering studying abroad will be able to access relevant information rapidly and in a clear manner. The platform also encourages students with disabilities with clear information about existing mobility opportunities, and testimonials from other students who went abroad.
