The new Director for Lifelong Learning (policies and programmes - Directorate B) Hélène Clark has taken office on 1 November. Ms Clark, who is a French national, has been active in the Directorate General for Employment before, and is replacing Michel Richonnier, who retired in February 2008.
Directorate A (Lifelong Learning – horizontal Lisbon policy issues and international affairs) has also seen senior staff changes lately: The former Director David White, who retired earlier this year as well, is currently being replaced by Acting Director Gordon Clark.
Even though the names are a mere coincidence, one feels tempted to say that sometimes it just takes two (Clarks) to Tango.
