This study focuses on the long-term institutional impact of intensive programmes funded by the Centre for International Mobility CIMO in Finnish higher education institutions. The study included programmes within Erasmus, Nordplus, FIRST and North-South-South funding programmes. The report covers 17 higher education institutions and most of the data have been collected through a total of 60 interviews to employees in the education and administration areas in higher education institutions. The results of the study indicate that institutions see intensive courses in a positive light and that these are often used as a step to evaluate potential partners. Intensive courses are also expected to result in other forms of cooperation, such as publications, joint projects, common teaching modules or joint degrees.
