Higher education cooperation with extra-European countries – 2010 project funding open for proposals

The 2010 Erasmus Mundus call for proposals has been launched by the European Commission at the beginning of December. The call regards all three actions of the second phase of the Eramsus Mundus programme:

  • Action I – Joint Programmes, divided further into Erasmus Mundus Master Courses (EMMCs) and Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorates (EMJDs)
  • Action II -  Partnerships, further divided into partnerships with countries covered by the ENPI, DCI, EDF and IPA instruments (former External Cooperation Window), and partnerships with countries and territories covered by the Industrialised Country Instrument (ICI)
  • Action III – Promotion of European Higher Education

The overall objectives of the Erasmus Mundus programme are to promote European higher education, to help improve and enhance the career prospects of students, and to promote intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries, in accordance with EU external policy objectives, in order to contribute to the sustainable development of third countries in the field of higher education.

Budget:

Action I: No direct budgetary impact in 2010
Action II: EUR 105,2 million
Action III: EUR 1 million, with grants ranging from EUR 100 000 – 350 000
