This edited volume is one outcome of the EduLink ACP–EU cooperation programme in higher education, which is a key initiative for collaborative activity between the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States and the European Union. The book is comprised of eight chapters authored by a team of experts involved directly in African higher education or active in cooperative programmes in the higher education sphere on the continent. Issues covered include developing the capacity of African higher education institutions, graduate education in sub-Saharan Africa, regional and international academic and research cooperation on the continent, as well as strategies and challenges for “deploying Africa’s intellectual Diaspora”.
