On 12 February 2025, the European Commission opened a public consultation on EU funding for cross-border education, training and solidarity, young people, media, culture, and creative sectors, values, and civil society within EU’s next multiannual financial framework (MFF) (2028-2035).
This consultation targets a broad range of stakeholders including EU institutions, national authorities and institutions, regional and local authorities; recipients of EU funding including students and staff; citizens, businesses, SMEs and business associations, as well as other stakeholders such as civil society organisations, research/scientific community, and academia.
Following President von der Leyen's Political Guidelines for the 2024-2029 European Commission, the Commission aims to create a simpler, more focused, and responsive budget that reflects European strategic priorities.
In preparation for the next MFF, underlying the EU's long-term budget, the European Commission launched seven public consultations to gather views from interested parties on how to create a more effective and efficient budget that delivers on key objectives:
The Commission's proposals are expected to be presented in 2025.
Interested organisations are invited to respond to the public consultation by filling in the online questionnaire in any official EU language.
The deadline to provide feedback is Tuesday, 6 May 2025.
