On 10 December Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi) launched its 7th Higher Education in the World Report, titled Humanities and Higher Education: Synergies between Science, Technology and Humanities (HEIW7). The report aims to provide the higher education academic community, policymakers and decision-makers as well as the wider society with a diagnosis and analysis of the current state of affairs, and to offer proposals that can create pathways towards an integrated approach to knowledge.

130 experts from 30 countries have contributed to the report on 9 topics addressing different epistemological, social, cultural, political, educational, environmental and institutional issues that are currently being posed in relation to the need to change education and research in order to integrate fields of knowledge. The report reflects on the key issues and challenges faced by higher education and its institutions at the beginning of the 21st century.
