On 8 May, Grażyna Żebrowska was appointed the new Director General of NAWA, Poland’s ACA member. Dr Żebrowska is a physicist by training. She obtained her PhD from the University of Rennes 1 (France) and the University of Gdánsk (Poland). Since 2019, Dr Żebrowska had been the Director of the International Relations Department at the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. She also worked for many years as the Advisor for Science, Technology and Higher Education at the Embassy of Poland in Washington, DC. In the United States, she also promoted Polish higher education and research institutions.

ACA wishes Dr. Żebrowska success and luck in her important position. In the short time since its creation, NAWA has become the ‘shooting star’ of internationalisation agencies in Europe. It deserves an internationally experienced and highly qualified leader like Dr Żebrowska to take it further on its road to success.
