Germany reaches enrolment target ahead of schedule

Germany has surpassed its long-term goal of hosting 350,000 international students by 2020 three years early. The latest statistics from German academic exchange service DAAD revealed that international student numbers for the 2016/17 academic year increased 5.5%, up from 340,305 on the previous period, while reaching 358,895. This means that sometime during the year, the country officially reached its current target to host 350,000 international students by 2020.
Within the past few years alone, Germany’s international recruitment efforts have improved opportunities for work during studies and after graduation and the continuing expansion of English-taught program within German universities has paid off. More information
