Germany has recently announced the ‘International Cooperation action plan’, which presents the objective and priorities for international cooperation of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the years to come. The action plan is strongly linked to the Federal Government’s Strategy for the Internationalisation of Science and Research (Strengthening Germany’s Role in the Global Knowledge Society, 2008) and highlights, how the BMBF plans to further strengthen international cooperation in the field of education, research, science and innovation. The document touches, among others, upon future cooperation plans with developing and emerging countries. It also describes Germany’s contribution to the solution of global problems.
