For a last time in 2008, ACA convened experts and stakeholders in its series of European Policy Seminars (EPS), on 17 October 2008.  Charting new waters in development cooperation, From Aid to Partnership - Enhancing development through education

• provided insights into Europe’s development agenda with Africa as well as;
• practical examples of cooperation; and
• stirred discussion and thoughts on the nature of partnership as such.

The seminar was rated a big success by participants and speakers alike. The Secretariat would like to thank ACA’s former Deputy Director Ulf Lie, who chaired and initiated the seminar, as well as all speakers and participants for a stimulating event. We very much hope that the “networking” dimension of the seminar will not turn out to be “not working” (to quote Peter Taylor from the University of Sussex), but that it will lead to concrete and well-reflected action between European and African higher education.
