French government and academic community commemorate the January attacks

After the attacks that hit France at the beginning of this month, French Minister of National Education, Higher Education and Research Najat Vallaud-Belkacem and Geneviève Fioraso, Secretary of State for Higher Education, met the University community on 12 January. During this meeting, they met the students’ representatives, the trade-unions’ representatives of Higher Education. This action aimed at strengthening the mobilization of the Higher Education community within the French republican values of Freedom, Equality and Fraternity. On 22 January Ms. Vallaud-Belkacem also met with several educational and academic community associations fighting against racism and anti-Semitism, as well as local associations and authorities or personalities involved in favor of secularism and freedom of expression. Following these meetings, the Education Minister presented a series of eleven symbols measures the great mobilization of the School for the values of the Republic.
