France: Vocational and qualification campuses bring together secondary schools and higher education

The French initiative of Vocational and Qualification Campuses - created to strengthen cooperation between the educational system and the economic world and to help youth employability- is broadening. Originally launched in 2013 with 14 operating campuses, on 30 January  French Minister for Education Najat Vallaud-Belkacem announced that 17 other campuses have been selected to join the initiative, and she launched the third call for projects.

The Vocational and Qualification Campuses are conceived as centers of excellence aimed at bringing together secondary schools and higher education, and to combine them with a strengthened partnership with companies and research laboratories, and that is supported by the regional councils and businesses. Thirty-one Vocational Campuses have been already labelled in the national chart, and categorized intro different fields such energy and eco-building, aeronautics, digital & design, chemistry and biotechnologies.
