First workshop of new Inclusion ACAdemy training sessions

The Inclusion ACAdemy is back with a new series of training sessions for higher education institutions from the Czech Republic, Estonia, and Hungary.

After the introductory session that took place last month (for more details, see ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, September 2024), the new training programme continued on 18 October 2024, with a workshop led by experts Marina Casals Sala and Jeanine Gregersen-Hermans, who brought their extensive experience in inclusive internationalisation to the topic of inclusive support. This interactive session, rooted in the Inclusive Comprehensive Internationalisation (ICI) Project, aimed to equip participants with strategies for creating equal opportunities that enable all students to fully benefit from international experiences, regardless of their background or ability.

During the session, around 50 participants engaged in a dynamic discussion, exploring real-life scenarios where different approaches to supporting the students might more or less inclusive. Through these examples, the group examined diverse contexts in which students may face barriers to accessing international opportunities, looking into different strategies to ensure that all students feel supported. This exchange underscored the importance of adaptable policies and inclusive practices, prompting participants to consider ways their institutions could better address the unique needs of each student. The discussions highlighted the critical role of thoughtful, inclusive approaches in promoting equitable mobility experiences that align with the Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity priority.

The Inclusion ACAdemy series, coordinated by the Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) with support from the Support Centre for Inclusive Higher Education (SIHO) is tailored to equip higher education institutions across Europe to advance the Inclusion and Diversity priority of the Erasmus+ programme 2021–2027. Delivered by field experts, this training provides an impactful platform to foster accessible and supportive mobility programmes for all students.
