More than 250 European towns and cities will participate in the first European-wide job fair on 29th and 30th September. The event, which is being organised within the framework of the European year of workers' mobility, is designed to inform Europeans about job opportunities abroad and to provide them with practical information about moving to a different country. The overall goal of this event is to enhance workers' mobility, meant both as mobility between countries and mobilitybetween employment sectors. According to the European Commission only two per cent of Europeans live in a EU country other than their country of origin, a situation largely unchanged over the last 30 years. And average job duration is 10.6 years in the EU, while in the US it is 6.5.
