This report presents an overview of the financial health of the higher education sector in England, as forecasted for the periods of 2011-12 and 2014-15. The results presented in this report show that the projected performance for 2011-12 is slightly weaker than in the period 2010-11. The results projected to 2012-13 and to 2014-15 are sound but still heavily dependent on achieving the student recruitment targets. It is possible that the recent reforms in England’s higher education may have a negative impact on the financial performance of institutions. The results also show that in 2012-13 a major decrease in public grant funding is expected, but it may be countered by an increase in fee income from domestic and European Union students.
