The research paper “Wissenschaft weltoffen” - a central source of information on student and researcher mobility - is now available in English. In five chapters, the publication sheds light on international academic mobility and education in a transnational context, evaluates current data and presents it in descriptive graphics. In this issue, a special spotlight chapter focuses in detail on the topics of university teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. It attempts to provide an initial overview of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic for worldwide student mobility and offers a cautious outlook on further developments.
