In September, ACA organised two expert workshops on the impact of Erasmus Mundus with national and European experts as part of an ongoing study on the 20 years of Erasmus Mundus. This study is conducted under a service contract by a joint consortium led by NTT DATA, together with ACA, DAAD and Tipik, on behalf of the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and the European Commission’s DG Education and Culture. 

During the two expert meetings participants discussed the preliminary results of institutional and programme level surveys conducted over summer. This provided further in-depth insights into the different impact areas of the Erasmus Mundus programme (for more details, see ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, June 2023).  

• The first meeting was attended by representatives of more than 15 national agencies for Erasmus+. They jointly addressed the relevance and perceived impact of the Erasmus Mundus programme in national contexts and related success factors based on national experiences;   

• Hosted at DAAD’s Brussels office, the second meeting brought together a group of European experts representing student associations (ESN and EMA), university networks (Coimbra, ECUI, EMACT, and YERUN), quality assurance agencies (NVAO) and other national organisations with Brussels representation (DZS and HK-dir). The experts discussed the impact of Erasmus Mundus at various levels, with special emphasis on positive impacts on the European higher education landscape.  

Additional online workshops will be conducted in late October with interested institutional experts at central and programme levels with the aim to explore the institutional effects of Erasmus Mundus study programmes.
