In November 2006, the consortium of four European agencies led by EduFrance and composed of DAAD, Nuffic and British Council successfully implemented the first two European Higher Education Fairs of a series of seven fairs funded by the European Commission’s Asia-Link programme.
The events, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand and New Delhi, India, each consisted of a one-day Asia-Link Symposium and a two-day fair. The Symposia attracted top-level speakers from Asia and Europe including the Thai and Cambodian Ministers of Education and Mr Koos Richelle, Director‑General of the EuropeAid Cooperation Office. Exhibitors from more than 20 EU Member States were present at each fair and informed the student visitors (over 25000 in Bangkok and over 8000 in New Delhi) about study opportunities in Europe.
The next EHEFs will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (September 2007), Beijing, China (October 2007) and Hanoi, Vietnam (December 2007).
