The terminology used to denote educational institutions is constantly changing. For a more ready insight into their activity as cooperation between them intensifies in Europe, Eurydice has just updated the second volume of its European Glossary on Education first published in 2000.

This new edition presents the institutions responsible for education in 30 European countries. It covers the various levels of education from pre-primary to tertiary education, while also taking account of institutions specialising in the education of persons with special needs or which offer adult education programmes leading to recognised qualifications.
