EUR 250 million for international mobility at German universities

On 3 June 2025 the National Agency for Erasmus+ University Cooperation within the German Academic Exchange Service (NA DAAD) announced, that for the first time, the Erasmus programme had made more than EUR 250 million available for cross-border mobility at German universities. The majority of the funding will be used to finance study abroad programmes for students and university staff in the EU and worldwide. It is expected that the funds will support around 60,000 people to undertake a semester abroad, an international internship, or a teaching or further education programme.

Over the next two years, Erasmus+ will provide around EUR 31 million in funding for the 'Mobility with partner countries' programme. These funds are intended to enable approximately 7,000 international students and university employees to undertake stays at German universities. Additionally, around EUR 10 million will be allocated to "Cooperation Partnerships", enabling universities to collaborate with international partner organisations on cross-educational internationalisation projects.
