In light of the ongoing evaluation processes of the current and previous Erasmus+ programme, the European University Foundation (EUF), the European Students Union (ESU) and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) organised on 23 March an event dedicated to the Erasmus+ review 2021-2022 in the European Parliament, in Brussels. The event was hosted by MEP and member of the CULT committee Marcos Ros.
The event featured the launch of the joint report “Erasmus+ review 2021-2022”, which analyses the start of the new programme and provides input for future implementation and improvement. The report includes 11 recommendations on the following topics:
The ACA Secretariat was invited to join the roundtable and the discussion on practical ways to improve Erasmus+ and to elaborate on the implementation of horizontal priorities from the perspective of its members, many of which serve as national agencies for Erasmus+ (NAs). The introduction of horizontal priorities supported closer links to broader societal challenges, but also required significant efforts to build the capacity of all stakeholders to deal with them in a more structured way.
ACA members have played the key role in professionalising national and institutional approaches to these priorities, through the development of related strategies and more hands-on support provided through various channels including SALTO Resource Centers. This work is supported by the ACA thematic peer learning groups sharing experience and evidence on the implementation of different priorities in a synergetic way, as well as more practice-oriented activities such as the latest Inclusion ACAdemy supporting institutional practitioners. These activities will be continued and strengthened, based on the lessons learnt in the first period of the current Erasmus+ programme generation.
