European Student Network (ESN) has recently published the results of an online survey on the recognition of full degrees taken abroad. The study aims to identify challenges and obstacles to the automatic recognition of full degrees and the consequences they have for graduates. Although quite a few respondents belong to the group of students or recent graduates who could not provide much data on the problems of recognition, the results do point to certain common challenges such as slow and expensive administration or incomparability of degrees. Within the given sample, Germany, Italy and Spain appear to be the most problematic countries when it comes to the recognition of foreign degrees.
