Every year since 2009 the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) publishes the results of its Graduate Impact survey on current students and recent graduates of the Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses (EMMCs). Since 2012, data are elaborated in a more extensive report and the latest one referring to the academic year 2013-2014 has just been published.
The results of this year report highlights that Erasmus Mundus Courses have a high level of satisfaction: overall, 80% of graduates were satisfied with the quality of the courses offered through Erasmus Mundus. However, among the weaknesses of the courses the graduates identified the lack of contacts with potential employers and of practical experiences during the course. Nevertheless, graduate employability results good, with 65% of graduates had found a job by the time the survey was issued, most of whom (55%) in less than two months after graduating.
One of the main challenges that have been identified is the low visibility of the Erasmus Mundus programme, in particular in some regions of the world such as the Americas. As a conclusion the study suggest to increase the online promotion and to encourage further universities and other higher education institutions to play a greater role in actively promoting EMMCs.
