The Erasmus Mundus programme's overall aim is to enhance the quality of European higher education and to foster co-operation with third countries in order to improve the development of human resources and promote dialogue and understanding between peoples and cultures.

Among others, the call for proposals covers actions related to:

• promotion of European higher education to the world
• improving the accessibility of European higher education to facilitate mobility for third-country student
• studies on recognition of credits, degrees and qualifications
• analyses of trends in higher education in an international perspective
• international thematic networks
