The Erasmus+ Impact Report 2024, published by the National Agency for Erasmus+ Higher Education Cooperation (NA DAAD), highlights the programme’s broad and lasting impact on German higher education. The report aims to raise awareness of the wide-ranging opportunities Erasmus+ offers for individual mobility and cooperation projects, making these more visible to the public and the academic community alike.
The 2024 edition places a clear focus on the impact of Erasmus+ across the higher education sector. Drawing on numerous ongoing projects and activities, it illustrates how the programme contributes to internationalisation and institutional development in Germany. It also provides an interim review of the 2021–2027 programme generation.
In 2024, over 57000 students and staff from German higher education institutions participated in Erasmus+ activities, supported by more than 400 project coordinators. Around EUR 185 million was allocated to mobility and other EU priority areas, such as inclusion and diversity. Additionally, 27 new Cooperation Partnerships were launched, with EUR 10.5 million in funding. In total, NA DAAD supported 114 cooperation projects through four funding calls in 2024.
Erasmus+ continues to serve as a key driver of international engagement, fostering professional growth, intercultural competence, and a shared European identity. It strengthens not only individuals, but institutions and democratic values across borders.
