These two reports provide an analysis of the profile of staff and students in higher education for the year 2010-11 in the United Kingdom. The dimensions of gender, ethnicity, disability and age were examined. This year’s report includes information on new areas such as destination of staff leaving university, data on taught and research postgraduates and degree attainment by subject and equality area. The results show that the majority of both staff (82.6%) and students (83.8%) in higher education were located in England. Except for postgraduate research level, the majority of students at every degree level were studying in areas other than science, engineering and technology (SET), whereas 58.5% of professors worked in SET departments.
