Employability of Professional Bachelors from an International Perspective

Renze Kolster and Don F. Westerheijden, Employability of professional bachelors from an international perspective, Final Report CHEPS, CHEPS, 2014. Pages: 112.

This publication, commissioned by the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO), is an international comparative study that explores the realization, organization and connection between professional oriented bachelor’s programmes and the labour market. It describes how four national systems - the Netherlands, Flanders, North Rhine Westphalia (Germany) and Ireland - deal with learning outcomes and link them to the needs of the professional world. The study tackles the different dimensions of employability in which the world of work is and can be linked to the intended learning outcomes, to the learning and evaluating processes, and to quality assurance. The study also formulates good practices and recommendations and it could be a useful informative tool for professionals working in and with study programmes, such as educational managers, directors, (internal) quality administrators, lecturers and even students.
