The European Association for International Education (EAIE) has launched the fourth edition of its EAIE Barometer survey, inviting professionals working in international higher education across Europe to share their experiences and perspectives. 

Conducted every three years, the EAIE Barometer examines internationalisation from the perspective of the people working directly in the field. Individuals working at all levels within higher education institutions of all types, as well as national agencies, ministries and the non-profit and for-profit sectors, are invited to participate. The survey explores areas including professional roles, institutional/organisational strategies and structures, current priorities and the emerging challenges affecting international higher education.  

First launched in 2014, the Barometer allows developments in internationalisation to be tracked over time and provides insight into changing priorities, practices and challenges across the sector. The findings provide a resource for professionals, institutions and sector organisations interested in understanding developments in international higher education and informing strategic discussions. 

As a thank-you for participating, respondents can also enter a series of EAIE prize draws, including a fee waiver for the 2027 EAIE Conference and Exhibition in Lisbon, an invitation to the EAIE President’s Reception, a free EAIE membership for 2027 and a training fee waiver.  

The EAIE Barometer survey is open from 7 September to 13 November 2026. Results from the fourth edition will be published in early 2027.
