The third year of the Czech-French Barrande fellowship programme started off with two webinars co-organised by the French institute in Prague and DZS on 9 December. These events aimed at informing Czech and French doctoral students about the application process and best practices from the previous years.
The goal of the Barrande programme is to support the exchange of PhD students between France and the Czech Republic, and, thus, foster their bilateral scientific cooperation. Two types of fellowships for short-time research stays and for “cotutelles” are supported under this programme co-funded by the two countries. Last year, 29 doctoral students were awarded the fellowship out of 48 applicants from the Czech Republic and France. The application deadline is 4 February 2022.
The first-ever Czech national fair for students from Latin America was organised as part of the Study in the Czech Republic initiative on 14 October 2021. In total, 24 Czech universities participated in the Study in the Czech Republic Virtual Fair 2021, where they interacted with more than 2,000 students and got hundreds of visits from ca. 10,000 fair participants to their stand.
