As many other institutions in the internationalisation field, the Study in the Czech Republic initiative has also had to widely reorganize its agenda due to the covid-19 pandemic and direct its promotional activities to the virtual world. Next to participating in a number of international virtual fairs and active cooperation with student media ambassadors, DSZ also organized their own series of Facebook live sessions.
During the second half of May, 20 live sessions were also prepared, including the initial one with media ambassadors followed by 19 private and public higher education institutions. Each live stream allowed one of the institutions to present itself on the official Facebook profile Study in the Czech Republic
The sessions ranged from interviews with international students through a studio debate to riding a golf cart around the most sustainable campus in the Czech Republic.
The event was promoted with paid advertising on Facebook and Instagram and received support from Study in Europe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and embassies and Czech Centres abroad. Therefore, the impact was quite impressive – the reach of posts was over 13.5 million Facebook users. The number of views of individual sessions vary according to their attractiveness towards prospective students, but in general, the whole event was evaluated as successful and Study in the Czech Republic initiative will definitely consider repeating it in some form in the future.
