The conference, opened by Michal Uhl, Director of the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS) and Angeliki Psychogyiou, Policy and Project Officer at ACA, provided a platform to over a hundred academics, policymakers and experts across Europe for sharing good practices and ideas and debating the challenges of digitalisation.

During the first day, the benefit of virtual exchanges and blended mobilities for students and teachers and the right approach and use of them were addressed by representatives of the university and student world in an expert panel discussion. The second key area in the relationship between digitalisation and education, the digitisation of administrative processes, was the main theme of the afternoon panel, with representatives from the field, reminding us to focus on the process, on quality over quantity, the why, and simplifying administration leading to.

The second half of the conference was devoted to the third big topic, the digitisation policies and strategies themselves. The third and final panel featured the discussions of several representatives from the field, discussing the need to equip students and teachers with the necessary digital competencies to meet the demands of the modern world, which will not be achieved without coherent national and European strategies.

The next ACA conference on the topic of digitalisation in international higher education will take place in Slovenia on 7-9 June, in cooperation with the Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS) and will further focus on digital pedagogies.
