The specific objective of this feasibility study is to look at the existing national and international data on the socio-economic background of various kinds of learners, starting from pre-primary education to adult learning, and to analyse such data. Assessment should be made about the possible use of this data in monitoring progress in education and training towards revised Lisbon objectives. Recommendations on a future strategy for an EU data collection in this area should also feature in the study.
