Dr. Christian Bode, DAAD's Secretary General and ACA's Vice-President, has recently been awarded The Cassandra Pyle Award for Leadership and Collaboration in International Educational Exchange. This award honours the contributions of a senior international educator to global international exchange and is awarded annually by NAFSA (Association of International Educators), the world’s largest association in international higher education.  The award ceremony took place at the NAFSA annual conference in Minneapolis, where 7.000 experts from the fields of politics, education and exchange met to discuss current matters in higher education. Dr. Bode gave an inspirational speech in acceptance of this award at the opening plenary. Pyle was a leader in the field of international education and exchange for more than 25 years, and served as president of NAFSA from 1978–79.
