DAAD: New cooperation intiatives with Canadian and French institutions

New cooperation to strengthen German-Canadian research networks

DAAD and Mitacs (Canadian NGO supporting research and training programmes) agreed upon a bilateral student research mobility agreement, that fosters student mobility between Canada and Germany. Each country will host up to 60 top-ranked undergraduates each year, starting in summer 2017. The Canadian students will travel through the DAAD’s Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) programme, or the joint RISE-Globalink Research Internship Programme. The exchange promotes bilateral, research-based collaboration and covers students in biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, and engineering.

Deeping cooperation with Sorbonne University

A new cooperation agreement between the DAAD and the Paris-Sorbonne Université aims at supporting the exchange between researchers and PhD-students of the Sorbonne universities and their German partner universities. The network of the Sorbonne Universities counts in total eleven research universities and covers all disciplines of humanities and natural sciences.

Moreover, the DAAD’s regional office in Paris will be moving in autumn this year to the Sorbonne University.
