DAAD: New “compass” for academic cooperation under difficult conditions

The DAAD has developed a guide for German universities (for university managements, heads of faculties, research groups and individual researchers) to analyse the opportunities and risks of academic cooperation under difficult conditions - independently with regard to their international projects and partners. With this, the DAAD aims to enabling them to make independent decisions.

The core of the publication is an analysis grid based on six criteria, which provides universities with a framework for orientation and evaluation in the strategic planning and implementation of international cooperation. The analysis criteria, supplemented by guiding questions and sources of information, cover aspects such as the security situation on site, the constitutional and socio-political framework or the opportunities and risks of the respective science system.
