Accompanying the EU's Green Deal, and the German government's National Hydrogen Strategy, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has launched a new scholarship programme called "ERA Fellowships - Green Hydrogen." The programme supports national and international research stays, internships and expert working groups on the topic of green hydrogen and is intended to improve networking between science and industry.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research is funding the programme with around EUR 6 million until 2025. The DAAD programme is open to academics and students from EU member states, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and countries that are affiliated to the EU's Horizon Europe programme. “…Hydrogen from renewable energies, also known as green hydrogen, is one of the urgently needed building blocks of the energy transition. At the same time, a wide range of research is still necessary for comprehensive use. With the new hydrogen program, we as the DAAD are making a contribution to strengthening international research networking in this energy source of the future," said DAAD President Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee.
