DAAD: European conference in HE

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is organising together with various European partner organisations a European conference on the cooperation between universities and enterprises in the area of education and training in Bonn on 18-19 June 2007. The theme of the conference is “university-enterprise cooperation: building on new challenges from past experience.”

In order to identify future challenges for the European higher education area (EHEA), an online survey was launched between February-April 2007 on the cooperation between universities and enterprises in the area of education and training with view to the Bologna and Lisbon objectives. The major findings of this online survey will be disseminated during the conference. Furthermore, university-enterprise cooperation will be discussed with stakeholders in order to build up recommendations for future actions. In line with the Lifelong-Learning programme, DAAD was also involved in preparing the launching event of the LLP in Berlin, together with the German Federal Education Ministry. During the event, eighteen current projects from the former Comenius, Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig, Jean Monnet and Lingua programmes (now combined under the broad LLL programme) were awarded the European prize for Lifelong Learning.
