The DAAD will be celebrating its 90th jubilee in 2015. Since the organisation was founded in 1925 in Heidelberg, over two million young people from all over the world have been able to study or conduct research in Germany and abroad with the help of the DAAD. This makes the DAAD the largest funding organisation for academic exchange in the world today. President Margret Wintermantel predicts that the DAAD will also “continue to play a decisive role in promoting international understanding in the coming decades”.
