DAAD rounds off the year with plenty of reasons to celebrate.

The DAAD has been awarded with the “IIE Europe Award for Excellence” by the US Institute of International Education (IIE) for its outstanding achievements in the international cooperation on education. The prize, launched in 2011, focuses on activities that are of value to the European higher education landscape, supporting global openness and international exchange.

The 10^th anniversary of the DAAD international academy (iDA) marks another milestone. In 2006, the iDA was set-up to support the internationalisation of higher education institutions in Germany with targeted training programmes. For the last ten years, it has been offering seminars to more than 10.000 representatives of Higher Education Institutions on topics such as regional competence, global responsibility, higher education policy from an international comparative perspective, as well as on legal questions. Last year, the iDA also started to offer special training programmes addressing the integration of refugee students.
