CZEDUCON 2022: Higher education experts meeting in Prague

The fourth annual CZEDUCON conference, a flagship event in the field of higher education under the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU,  took place earlier this month, on 21-22 November 2022 in Prague. Organised by the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS) and attended by almost 500 participants, this year’s conference brought together over fifty expert to focus on the European Strategy for Universities (ES4U) on topics related to the development of the European educational area and the direction of higher education policy.

The ACA secretariat, along with the ACA president and several members were also present, delivering several sessions on a wide variety of relevant aspects of international education.

Ulrich Grothus, president of ACA held a session on ‘Shared values? Academic freedom in international cooperation’, where he addressed how universities can stand for their values and still work with partners who do not share them, building bridges across political and cultural front lines.

The panel on ‘Inclusion: consolidating and promoting resources and ideas’, chaired by Martin Bogdan, Policy and Project Officer, aimed at interlinking different institutional and national practices with an eye on the European outlook and transnational collaboration when it comes to widening international opportunities to non-traditional students in European higher education.

Finally, Angeliki Psychogyiou, Policy and Project Officer chaired two sessions, a panel ‘Student mobility remade - new formats of mobility during Covid-19’ focusing on the current state of play in digitally enhanced mobility formats and how HEIs, beneficiaries and NAs have been responding to them and a workshop, ‘Fostering high-quality blended student mobility in higher education’ on challenges of student blended mobility from a multi stakeholder perspective.

Below follow some moments captured on camera both from the sessions but also from the social events accompanying the conference.
