Since 12 May 2014 a call for projects "CréaMOOCs" has been open and available here.
In total, EUR 3 million will provide the future Communities universities and institutions (COMUE) with digital equipment and assist the teaching staff in the use of digital resources. This initiative is part of the National Digital Strategy launched by the Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research of 2 October 2013 and it aims to encourage the development of digital tools to assist student success, the democratisation of access to knowledge and the international attractiveness of French higher education institutions.
The call for proposals will take into account the overall digital project developed by institutions, including synergies at one or more sites, the link with the action of Digital Universities in the regions but also teacher training and openness to socio-economic actors in the area.
While more than 260 000 people have registered since January 2014, following 36 MOOCs posted on the platform France Digital University (FUN – France Université Numérique), this call for proposals will support the development of innovative educational content carried out by French higher education institutions.
