In 2010, the European Students’ Union launched the “Financing the Students' Future” (FINST) project, aiming to research the impact of financing systems in Europe on student populations. This report is the final publication of the ESU project and consists of an overview of higher education funding systems across Europe, a comparative analysis of funding systems, several articles on issues related to financing of higher education, as well as future funding scenarios. The aim of this report is to give a general picture of higher education financing from a student perspective and to encourage a deeper discussion among the various stakeholders in higher education.
