CIMO administers Sitra Fellowships between India and Finland

As of 1 January 2007, CIMO (Centre for International Mobility) and Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, have launched a new scholarship programme promoting academic exchanges between India and Finland. Encouraging cooperation between Finnish and Indian research institutes and universities, the Sitra Fellowship will be administered by CIMO and offers bilateral opportunities in postgraduate studies, research and university teaching.

The scholarship will primarily target Indians intending to study in Finland and who have completed a Master or doctoral degree, though some exceptional awards will be reserved for Finnish applicants wishing to conduct post-graduate study or research at an Indian institution. Scholarship amounts vary according to the candidate’s qualifications, ranging between 800 and 2500 Euros monthly for a period of 3 to 12 months. CIMO mobility statistics for Finland currently indicate 31 incoming Indians in 2005, a number that will hopefully see a simultaneous quantitative and qualitative increase.

More information about the fellowships, as well as explanations how to apply, can be found on CIMO’s website. Sitra Fellowships
