The French authorities have recently introduced a new quality charter to ensure the highest quality of services provided for international students holding a scholarship from the French government. The charter contains 74 performance indicators which apply to all stages of the students’ experience, from information and counselling before departure, to accommodation and assistance once in France and follow-up after the students’ return to their home country. The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs is behind the initiative which also implicates numerous other organisations and institutions. CampusFrance is particularly involved in ensuring the charter is applied to their promotion, counselling and information services around the world.

The long-term objective is for the charter to be applied by all French institutions for all international students studying in France. Discussions are also underway on the development of the European dimension of the charter.
