Call for tenders: 2011/S 136-225467 – Study on foundations supporting research and innovation in the EU: quantitative and qualitative assessment, comparative analysis, trends and potential

The Directorate-General Research and Innovation of the European Commission has launched a call for tenders to examine the sustainable structures and mechanisms supporting research and innovation in the EU. The aim of the study is to

  • quantify and assess foundations' financial support and policies for research and innovation in the EU;
  • make a comparative analysis between EU member states; and
  • identify trends and the potential for future developments in this sector.

The basis for the work will be the collection of data on the characteristics and activities of research-funding foundations in each EU member state. The applicants must have/set up a network of national expert researchers that will manage the onsite data collection . The network has to cover all 27 EU member states. In addition, the study must derive its methodology and research from tools developed in the framework of the FOREMAP project.

The maximum duration of the project is 24 months (from the award of the contract).

Budget: EUR 550 000 - 600 000
